Millions of Christians are totally convinced that any sin they commit has already been covered by the shed blood of Jesus Christ and, thus, pre-forgiven by Him.  In order to accept this belief as spiritual truth one must totally ignore scores of scriptures written by the apostles.  “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip (from our minds).  For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast (impossible of being annulled, abolished or repealed), and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence (repayment) of reward (penalty or punishment), how shall WE (New Covenant believers) escape (a just punishment for our sins) if we neglect so great salvation (a salvation that enables us to live holy lives, escaping every temptation to sin), which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them (those first apostles) that heard him?”  (See Hebrews 2:1-3).

“Examine yourselves whether ye be in the faith (truly converted).  Prove your own selves.  Know ye not your own selves how that Jesus Christ is IN you, except ye be reprobates (a spiritual outcast).”  (See 2 Corinthians 13:5).  Christian congregations around the globe are literally filled with men and women, young and old, who are spiritual outcasts and do not have an inkling of their peril or condition.

Paul wrote the Corinthian congregation that he feared “when I come again my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail (grieve over) many which have sinned already, and have not repented” thinking their sins were pre-forgiven, already covered by the shed blood of the Lord.  (See 2 Corinthians 12:21).

Writing to the church in Galatia, Paul said, “Be not deceived.  God is not mocked (you haven’t put one over on God), for whatsoever a (Christian) man sows that shall he also reap.  For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.  To be continued……
