Modern scholarship casts grave doubts about the accuracy of the creation record as given in the Book of Genesis.  Many find it unbelievable that most Christians believe the creation record in Genesis is to be taken literally.  Folks, the worldly wise have doubted the Genesis record for many centuries, actually for thousands of years!  Remember Satan’s question to mother Eve was “Has God said???”  Satan was introducing doubts about God’s Word in the Garden of Eden!!!

The apostle Paul wrote that “ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD AND IS PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION…” (See 2 Timothy 3:16).  That would include the creation account given in Genesis.  Do you desire instruction in just how this world came into existence?  Do you want to be corrected should you have inadvertently embraced some erroneous concept as to how human beings came into existence?  Will you accept reproof should you be deceived about how long ago man first appeared on this earth?

Jesus believed the Genesis record.  In Mark Chapter 10, verse 6, Jesus says, “But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.”  He doesn’t say, “From the beginning God made them aquatic life forms that crawled out of the ocean and evolved into warm blooded mammals, lost their scales and fins, etc., etc., etc.”

In the 17th chapter of Luke’s gospel account, Jesus speaks of Noah, the ark, and the flood.  (See verses 26 and 27).  Can He be believed or must we listen to modern scholarship that ridicules the idea of an ark being built large enough to accommodate all the animals mentioned in the Genesis account?

I will repeat again, Satan is good at what he does – very, very good.  He loves to toy with the intellectual mind.  He whispers yet what he whispered to mother Eve thousands of years ago, “Has God said…..???”  In the mind of a Carl Sagan, or a Stephen Hawking, Satan will plant the thought “the Bible cannot be true.  It is a myth.  Toss it aside.  Don’t give it a second thought.”

Do you know one reason I wait so late to begin writing?  I like to meditate and allow the Spirit of my Creator to commune with me.  I like to think and think deeply before I begin striking the keys that will form words and sentences that will expound upon the Word of the Living God.  I do not want to fall into reproach by my Creator.  I want to think His thoughts after Him, saying what He says.

Do you know WHY Jesus believed the creation account in Genesis?  Because He was there!  He “is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature, for by Him were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers.  All things were created by Him and for Him, and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist” (See Colossians 1:15-17).

That’s the One I am going to listen to when He speaks.  To Him I will open my mind and heart.  To Him I will bow my will.  To Him I will give my life.  With Martin Luther I will declare, “Here I stand.  I can do no other.”
