A TWO THOUSAND YEAR OLD WARNING!
The two thousand year old warning? It’s found in the ninth chapter of the Book of Revelation, verses 13 thru 21. This is the passage that speaks of the great river Euphrates and the army of two hundred million horsemen. John says, “and I heard the number of them,” emphasizing this as when he wrote an army of that number would have been totally unbelievable, a ludicrous number. But it is the 18th verse that contains the most startling number: “By these three was THE THIRD PART of men killed…” A third part of mankind would be somewhere in the neighborhood of two BILLION people!
By what three? “By fire and smoke and brimstone.” (See verse 17). What is produced by a nuclear explosion?
The Euphrates River begins in the mountains of Northern Turkey and runs down through Syria, then through Iraq and into the Persian Gulf, ISIS stomping grounds. There are well over 300 million Muslims living in the Middle East right now.
God doesn’t want His faithful sons and daughters taken unaware or terrified by world events. “In me, ye shall have peace,” Christ said. And He didn’t qualify that statement. We can have peace regardless of what age or era we live in, regardless of what transpires around us. God gives us a “heads up” warning, letting us know what we can expect. God help us to understand.

ANGLO-SAXON THEORY
I long ago realized the folly of thinking the United States was comprised mainly of the lost tribe of Manasseh and that England was comprised mainly of Ephraim’s descendants. My plea for a rational mind and good judgment was answered by our Lord long ago. God granted me the ability to think rationally, deeply and with very good judgment. That’s when I began reading only the Bible – no commentaries, no humanly authored books, etc., but only the scriptures – ALL OF THEM. I have read the entire Bible from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 dozens and dozens and dozens of times – every word, every begat, every line. I have fifteen Bibles, most all heavily marked up with notes and highlighting. I have NO commentaries. I am as familiar with Zephaniah as with John’s gospel, as familiar with Haggai as with the Book of Romans. Only after I had read slowly and carefully every word of scripture three or four times did I begin to actually see what was contained therein. I examined the Hebrew, the Greek, the Aramaic. I even have a Jewish Bible I consult.
And as I read God’s Word false beliefs and concepts began to dissolve in my mind and thinking. I saw that morally good men erred greatly in some of what they believed and taught. I discovered that the truth could be known but that continued, uninterrupted full obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ was necessity to keep Satan at bay in his deceiving efforts. ALL sin had to be abandoned. Holiness and righteous character alone would close the door firmly against deception. “Sin not…neither give place to the devil” (See Ephesians 4:26-27). That is why there is so much doctrinal error embrace in the Christian world. All too many pastors, ministers, preachers, etc. KEEP SINNING – even teaching sin cannot be rooted out of a believer’s life! They keep the door open for Satan to come in at will and do his evil work. Brethren, these things ought not to be.

A PROPHETESS (?) SPEAKS
Nowhere does the Bible say the earth will be desolate and uninhabited for a thousand years – nowhere! That is Seventh Day Adventist Ellen G. White’s false assumption. Read Revelation 20 slowly and carefully. Why is Satan bound for a thousand years and cast into the bottomless pit? TO PREVENT HIM FROM DECEIVING THE NATIONS ANY LONGER! If there are no people, no nations on earth capable of being deceived, then why prevent Satan from working his deceptions on people who do not even exist!!!! Verse 3 of Revelation 20 says the devil is cast into the bottomless pit “that he should deceive the nations no more.” When Satan is loosed from his prison at the conclusion of the thousand years he “shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth…” (verses 7 and 8). And how many people are on earth at that point in time? “The number of whom is as the sand of the sea” (verse 8). Millions and millions!
If one can only free themselves up from believing Ellen G. White was an infallible prophetess and let the Bible say what it so plainly says, they instantly see that this earth is inhabited throughout the thousand years and that Satan is bound so that he cannot deceive the inhabitants of earth at that time! It does not take a lot of careful study to discern this. It only takes believing God’s Word over the word of a deceived woman.
Ellen G. White failed to see that the words spoken by Jeremiah in Jeremiah 4 are not describing something visited upon the whole earth but on the city of JERUSALEM AND JUDAH ONLY. Verse 3 identifies to whom God is speaking: “For thus saith the Lord TO THE MEN OF JUDAH AND JERUSALEM.” He then says to Jeremiah, “Declare ye (this prophecy) IN JUDAH, AND PUBLISH IN JERUSALEM…” (verse 5). It is to “this people (the Jews) AND TO JERUSALEM” God is speaking (verse 11). “Watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against THE CITIES OF JUDAH” (verse 16). The “whole land” mentioned in verse 20 is still Judah! The “earth” Jeremiah is beholding in verse 23 is the earth of Judah – NOT the whole planet! There was “no man” IN JUDAH! (verse 25). The “broken down cities” mentioned in verse 26 are the cities OF JUDAH! The “whole land that is made desolate” IS JUDAH! “Every city” of Judah shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein. (verse 29). Forget your chapter break and read on into the first verse of chapter 5. Again Jerusalem is clearly shown to be the city God is condemning in the prophecy. This prophecy was fulfilled in Jeremiah’s own lifetime. Jeremiah 4 is NOT an unfulfilled prophecy speaking of what is going to happen to the entire planet earth.

THE RENAMING OF AMERICA
New York City should be renamed New Sodom and Los Angeles should be renamed New Gomorrah! Salt Lake City might well be called New Babylon. Sodom and Gomorrah did not have one-thousandth of the light and understanding God has afforded all of America since the days of the settlement of Jamestown, Virginia in 1607. For well over two full centuries this nation has been informed of how our Creator views the slaying of infants not yet born, as well as how he views the various and sundry sexually immoral lifestyles millions of Americans have adopted.
GOD JUDGES SIN! If I know nothing else, I know that God judges sin by the hard and lengthy punishments I have endured in my own life. Go to Sodom. Visit Gomorrah. Stand on the windswept desolate plains where those cities once stood, and listen to the words of warning that will echo through your mind: “God judges sin!”
America, your days of prosperity and peace are numbered – and they are quite few. Every empire, kingdom and government on earth enjoys a time of rising and endure a time of falling. America, your fall has now begun and great shall be your ruin when the fullness of God’s wrath is poured out upon you.
As I have been saying for years now: America, fasten your seatbelt because you are in for a very rough ride. Covid-19, the forest fires, flooding and tornadoes! Those are just the beginning of the devastation that lies ahead. America has yet to see the one thousand year hurricanes that will reduce large parts of this country to utter ruin.
America, though you have forgotten God, He remembers you and warns, “I change not!” Read the prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel and contemplate the mind-boggling judgments God brought upon His beloved city of Jerusalem and Israel His dear son. Yes, read the prophets, and with Jeremiah weep in light of what your Creator must hold in store for these United States. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth for their grave shall prove to be their hiding place from the horrors to come.

A CEMETERY VISIT (First written and shared on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 3:24 p.m.)
I visited Michael Garner’s gravesite today. No, I didn’t know him. He died fifty five years ago at age sixteen. It has been a beautiful day today. I went to Walmart and passed a country cemetery I had never visited before. (There are few such around anymore). We recently had experienced some high winds and rain, so I thought I would check to see if any flower arrangements needed setting back upright. None did. But I noticed the young man’s grave as a beautiful fresh flower arrangement had been placed on the grave. I then noted that he had died in 1964 and was born in 1948. I thought, “What love and what enduring grief that after the passage of fifty-five years someone still comes to this grave and places fresh flowers thereon.” He died so young and may well have been a very godly young man with godly parents. “Time and chance happens to us all,” say the scriptures (Ecclesiastes 9:11). The good do die young sometimes.
Those of us who have now entered into our seventh and eighth decade of life are supremely blessed. We have no kick coming against God or fate. So what if we weren’t blessed with riches or fame or whatever. We had life and a lot of it. The wealthy thirty year old with a terminal disease would surrender all of his wealth to live another thirty years or more!

A PIED PIPER
I listen to a lot of sermons – a lot. And I do listen carefully and am often inspired, sometimes enlightened, but then again sometimes I am distressed, even angered at the horrible error spewed forth from some pulpits. Here is something I heard a preacher by the name of John Piper say just this morning, a couple of hours ago:
“There’s not a righteous person in this room. (He is preaching what he thinks is an “anointed” sermon to his congregation). Everybody in this room is ungodly, sinful, bringing disrepute upon Jesus every day, and probably every hour of every day…”
What kind of congregation does that preacher have that he would say that? And what kind of a spiritual leader, guide and instructor is he that his congregation would be of that character? How could he fail them so miserably and not be crying in abject repentance instead of thundering what he assumes to be a God-anointed message given him by the Holy Ghost??
Do you know what his chosen text was that morning (or evening, I’m not sure whether it was a morning or evening service. I have no doubt it was a classic Sunday service)? He was expounding on Romans 7:15-25. I should say he was utterly destroying that text, corrupting it, portraying the apostle Paul as an exceedingly sinful man who never ever got the victory over sin in his life, so why should we expect to do so!
If you haven’t visited my website and read my article “The Apostle Paul – Was He A Defeated Christian?” do it now!! All you have to do is type the article’s title in the tiny search window at the top and it will be immediately brought up.
I thank God from the bottom of my heart for the enlightenment He has so graciously given me, especially when I listen to sermon after sermon of horrible, gross, devil-inspired error thundered from thousands of pulpits across the land weekly. Yeah, I’ll keep speaking forth the truth in article after article, email after email until my dying day because from time to time, here and there someone will respond and say, “I thank God for you Donald Wiley.” But, even if none ever responded, I would keep sitting at this keypad and writing article after article, proclaiming God’s truths.

“BE YE PERFECT!”
When scripture urges us, even commands us to be perfect, God is speaking of morally perfect. We are not to lie, steal, commit sexual offenses, etc. We still might put the tea kettle on the stove without any water in it, take a wrong turn and get lost while driving, mess up in a thousand different ways. But God expects His sons and daughters to be morally perfect. A person who is perfect in all areas of their life would never misspell a word. When throwing darts they would always hit the bull’s eye. They wouldn’t forget to feed the dog, etc.
Don’t allow anyone to convince you that you cannot live a truly holy life. You can. With God’s help, you can. Once God imparts to you His powerful Holy Spirit there is not a single instance of sin you can point to and tell God, “Now you know I had to commit that sin. I couldn’t help it, so I really don’t need any forgiveness for doing that.”
Satan is good at what he does, and he has a lot of help from the Christian ministry – a lot of help. No, not from all ministers, but from a lot of them.
I have one Bible that I have used a yellow marker to highlight all the verses of scripture in both Old and New Testaments that clearly teach a child of God has the help and ability to obey our Lord’s command to “Go, and sin no more.” That Bible has literally dozens and dozens of texts highlighted in yellow. Do yourself a favor. Get your Bible and as you read it keep a colored marker at hand. Every time you come across a verse of scripture that shows you can have victory over sin in your life highlight that verse. You will find that you are highlighting an awful lot of verses.
The Bible speaks of our “exercising ourselves unto godliness.” It won’t be easy. You’ll have to resist temptation from time to time. You will have to put forth real effort not to go the way of the flesh many times. But you CAN have the victory every time. Memorize I Corinthians 10:13. Believe I Corinthians 10:13. And then act upon I Corinthians 10:13. This one lone verse will then lead you swiftly onto the pathway of holy living. Yes, just one little scripture. Now get to it.

WAS PAUL A PRIME EXAMPLE OF A DEFEATED CHRISTIAN?
Paul agrees with his fellow apostle John that a believer need not sin. Then why is Paul, of all people, used as an example of a defeated Christian? Why is Paul used as an example to prove that a believer cannot be completely delivered from committing sin in this life? Again, as with John, it is due to a misunderstanding, a satanic misunderstanding, of what Paul wrote in Romans, chapter 7. In the 7th chapter of Romans, beginning with verse 14, Paul wrote these words: “I am carnal, SOLD UNDER SIN, for that which I do, I allow not: for what I would (or should do), that do I not; but what I hate, that do I…Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me, that is in my flesh, dwells no good thing, for to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I FIND NOT” (See Romans 7:14-18). Now do you really think this apostle is saying He doesn’t know how to get the victory over sin, because right before writing those words Paul had urged these Roman believers, “Reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin.” (See Romans 6:11). And again, “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof” (verse 12). He had just assured them, “Sin shall NOT have dominion over you” (verse 14). Does he then turn around and confess that in his own life he found none of this to be true? How absurd to even think so!
The KEY to a proper understanding of Paul’s clearly defeatist statements in Romans 7 is what Paul says in the 19th verse of Romans 6: “I speak AFTER THE MANNER OF MEN (and defeated men at that) because of the infirmity (Greek, “weakness”) of YOUR flesh.” Notice, Paul is not speaking of any weakness in his OWN flesh, but of the weakness of these Roman believers. Previously Paul had written the believers at Corinth, “I keep under (control) my body, and bring it into subjection (to the Spirit)…” (See I Corinthians 9:27). Paul hadn’t lost the victory between the time he wrote the Corinthians and the Roman believers. In writing, “I speak after the manner of men,” Paul was merely saying, “I am going to put myself in your shoes and address this problem from your viewpoint, your perspective, and show you the way to victory – Jesus Christ!”
Putting himself in the place of another in order to address THEIR problem was a tactic used by Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians. (See I Corinthians 4:6). It’s the tactic he uses in Romans 7. Don’t be thrown by his use of the personal pronoun “I.” Approximately six years before writing the Romans, Paul wrote the Thessalonian believers, “You are witnesses, and God also (God will bear me out on what I now say), how holily (in what a holy manner) and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe” (I Thessalonians 2:10). Did Paul and his companions live holy, just and blameless lives among the Thessalonians while being carnal and sold under sin among the Romans??? Of course not! Paul told the Galatian believers it pleased God to reveal His Son to them THROUGH PAUL. (See Galatians 1:15-16). Just as Jesus told Philip, “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father,” Paul could say to the Galatian AND ROMAN believers, “If you have seen me, you have seen Jesus Christ!” That’s rightly dividing the Word, brethren.

A TELEVANGELIST’S SHAME!
There is a preacher, or Bible teacher, who can be found supposedly expounding the scriptures daily on at least a couple of local television stations. The other morning he said, “I haven’t been out of bed fifteen minutes before I commit my first sin!” The implication, of course, is that he then sins numerous times throughout the day. He thinks sin is unavoidable for the believer – something that cannot be helped.
How does he miss the clear, easy-to-understand language of the 12th verse of Romans 8: “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, NOT to the flesh, to live after the flesh…” In other words, WE DON’T HAVE TO SIN! “No, in all these things we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through Him that loved us” (verse 37). How can one call himself “MORE THAN A CONQUEROR” if he, or she, continues to sin every single day in thought, word or deed????
How can he not understand the clear import of the words spoken by Christ, the easy-to-understand language of our Lord, as recorded in John Chapter 8: “Jesus answered them, Verily, verily (truthfully, truthfully) I (the one who CANNOT lie when making a promise) say unto you, “WHOSOEVER (believer or unbeliever) commits sin (continues to sin, practices sin, sins every day in thought, word or deed) IS THE SERVANT OF SIN (as sin enslaves – as many scriptures teach). And the servant (of sin) abides not in the house (the household , or family of God) forever, but the Son abides ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free (from sin), you shall be free indeed (truly free, totally free, free indeed)” (See John 8:34-36).
But doesn’t the apostle John clearly state: “If we (believers) say that we (believers) have no sin (that we are not sinning), we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (See I John 1:8). But, remember, it is this same John who wrote the words we have just read in the Gospel of John, chapter 8! Is John contradicting himself? Of course not! John’s statement in I John 1:8 must be considered in the context in which he made the statement. First, notice in verse 4 of that chapter John writes: “And these things write we unto you, THAT YOUR JOY MAY BE FULL.” How can a believer’s joy be FULL if he, or she, is continuing to sin every day in thought, word or deed? Are YOU filled with joy when you sin? Or is your joy instantly diminished if not utterly taken away? Then notice verse 6: “If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness (hence, sin, as when we walk in the light as He is in the light the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin), we lie (a sin), and do not (walk in) the truth.” Now, in this context, consider verse 8: “If (when walking in darkness, sinning) we say that we have no sin (the Gnostic claim that God doesn’t see, or take note of, a believer’s sin), we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” Then follows – IN THIS CONTEXT – verses 9 and 10: “If we confess our sins (and abandon them – see Proverbs 28:13), He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned (insisting God doesn’t see the believer’s sins) we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us..” Now, forget your chapter break and read the very next verse, verse 1 of chapter 2: “My little children, these things write I unto you, THAT YOU SIN NOT (THAT YOU STOP SINNING). And IF (yes, IF – not when, but IF) any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”
Believers who sin and insist God doesn’t see the believer’s sin, that “it’s all under the blood, brother,” make God a liar as He states quite clearly over and over again that He does see the believer’s sin and counts it against him. Read Revelation 2 and 3 slowly and carefully. Jesus Christ with eyes as a flame of fire (Rev. 1:14), says to each of these churches: “I know your works…” or “I SEE YOUR SINS!” He also says, “I have somewhat against you.” Over and over again He commands them to “REPENT!” He WARNS “I will give unto every one of you (no exceptions) according to your works!” Those who think our Lord doesn’t see a believer’s sin so as to count it against him need to read two other chapters of the Bible quite slowly and carefully – I Corinthians 10 and 11.
