Bible Doctrine

A RETURN TO PAGANISM

I listened once again to J. Vernon McGee’s recorded sermon “The Sabbath Day or the Lord’s Day – Which?” Of course the very title of his sermon implies clearly that the Sabbath is not the Lord’s Day, even though Jesus Himself said that He was Lord of the Sabbath, hence stating clearly that the Sabbath is, was and ever shall be the Lord’s Day. (See Matthew 12:8, Mark 2:27-28 and Luke 6:5.) And, in the passage in Mark’s gospel account, Jesus is quoted as saying the Sabbath was made FOR MAN, not merely for the Jew. It was sanctified and made holy time many centuries before the first Jew was even born!” In NO Bible passage is the first day of the week, or Sunday called “the Lord’s Day.” That is an invention of deceived men.

But do you want to know why I listened to Mr. McGee’s sermon about the Sabbath one more time? I had difficulty believing I had heard him right when he shouted “to observe the Sabbath today is to go back to paganism.” He then repeats himself, saying, “It’s to return to paganism, my beloved.” This blinded, deceived preacher shouts to the top of his lungs that Sabbath keeping by the Jews was paganism! How can you get any more blasphemous than that? Moses practiced paganism? God’s prophets of old were pagans? God is the author of pagan religion????

Satan is a master at what he does, for one can listen to a dozen of McGee’s sermons and find that he is right on point in many of his doctrinal statements, saying exactly what the Bible teaches in many areas. But many do not realize how Satan works his deceptions. He wraps a lie in a bundle of true statements. He draws one in to accepting someone as an anointed teacher of divine truth and then introduces a blatant lie, or falsehood, amidst the teaching and instruction of that revered pastor or preacher.

Don’t get me wrong. I feel certain that J. Vernon McGee really and truly believed God’s Sabbath was cancelled out and voided and replaced by Sunday observance. But when he shouted that “to observe the Sabbath today is to go back to paganism” he revealed himself to be speaking in the first person for Satan as that is a satanic statement for it makes God the author of paganism! A deceived man doesn’t know he is deceived and is representing Satan in much of what he says and teaches.

The average church-goer has little hope of escaping from spiritual deception for the average professing Christian really doesn’t study the scriptures in depth. When the pastor turns to a passage and asks the congregation to turn with him to that text and they read it together how can they be deceived? No scripture can be isolated from all other scriptures, and unless one knows the Word of God intimately well they might think a passage is saying one thing when it is saying something entirely different. The pastor doesn’t mean to deceive his congregation. He really and truly believes he is saying what the Bible says on a given matter. The Baptist pastor’s sermon that Sunday morning is “Once Saved, Always Saved,” but across town at the First Pentecostal Church their pastor’s sermon is “How One Can Lose Their Salvation!” Both are decent men, clean living, good husbands and fathers, but one of them is deceived and teaching false doctrine to his congregation. That’s WHY James cautioned that not many should seek to become pastors and/or teachers of the Word of God. Their responsibility is profound and one does not come into a good understanding of Bible doctrine by attending some denomination’s Bible college. They just become indoctrinated into that particular denomination’s beliefs.

COLOSSIANS AND THE SABBATH

I have been going over again and again every word in Paul’s letter to the Colossians.    This is one letter where many erroneously think Paul puts down Sabbath keeping, that old Pharisee of the Pharisees Paul urges Christians to abandon Sabbath keeping and enjoy their liberty in Christ.  (I continue to be astounded at how clever and powerful Satan is in foisting off his deceptions on devout Christians.  NEVER underestimate Satan’s genius and abilities.  You will pay a heavy price if you do).

Paul opens up this letter to the faithful brethren in Colosse, speaking of how they “knew the grace of God in truth.”  Many are ecstatic and jubilant about the grace of God while having little understanding of that grace, thinking the grace of God releases them from any responsibility to obey God or keep His holy commandments.  They turn the grace of God into license to live life as they please and slowly but surely their consciences become conditioned to forgetting God’s COMMAND to live holy lives.  In time their consciences become hardened and they do not realize their peril and great loss.

Paul goes on to say that he prays for these believers that they might be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.  (See Col. 1:9).  Many Christians are devoid of godly wisdom and spiritual understanding of what God’s will is for them in their daily lives.  Believing Jesus died for them is all they need to know and remember.  But Paul exhorts them to “walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing (pleasing God in all that they say, do or think), being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (verse 10).  Many do not increase in the knowledge of God as they make no real effort to please God in all they say, do or think.  Neither are they living fruitful lives abundant in good works.  They stagnate, not realizing that with God one either makes continual progress in sanctification and knowledge or inexorably slip backwards into their old life and habits, quenching and eventually losing the Spirit of God from their minds and lives.

Paul then speaks of being strengthened with all (God’s) might, according to His glorious power.  (See verse 11).  Imbued with the glorious POWER of God, strengthened by God’s world creating Spirit, it is patently ridiculous to think one must ever give in to the fleshly nature and sin each and every day in thought, word and deed.  Pastors who preach that devil’s doctrine will someday give answer to Jesus Christ for their satanic teaching.

Paul then says God’s Spirit makes us fit to be partakers of the inheritance God has in store for those who walk in holiness of life and that we have been delivered from the power of darkness and transported into the kingdom of His dear Son.  (See verses 12 and 13).

Paul writes of how Jesus is merely the FIRSTBORN of God’s great family of spiritual sons and daughters, and as it pleased the Father that all the fullness of God should dwell in the Firstborn Son, it is equally the Father’s will that all of His fullness dwell in us also.  (See verse 15 through 19, Chapter One).

Paul warns that we become alienated from God and enemies in our minds when we continue in sin.  We distance ourselves from God and our minds become closed to receiving and understanding the truth.  (verse 21).  We will think the Bible is saying one thing when it is saying something completely different, and that it is God’s will “to present YOU holy and unblamable and unreprovable  in His sight IF you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel” – that hope being fashioned and formed by God’s Spirit and nurturing teachers of God’s truth into an entirely new creation in Christ – filled with the fullness of God like the Firstborn Son! (Verses 22 and 23).

Paul then speaks of how this “mystery” has been hidden for ages and many generations, “but is now made manifest (or revealed) to His saints (those living holy lives)” (See verse 26).  And that is WHY many pastors and preachers do not see or understand this truth as they do not live holy lives, even telling their congregations that such is an impossibility – that all sin continuously, day in and day out.  (Remember my quoting the pastor recently how he told his congregation that all of them had certainly sinned that very day and were sinning still hourly!!!)  He could probably quote Romans 7 by heart.  I bet he couldn’t quote Colossians 1 by heart.  And, of course, he grossly misunderstood what Paul was actually saying in Romans 7.

Notice that in verse 27, Paul speaks of this mystery being “Christ IN you, the hope of glory.”  When Paul said, “Christ liveth IN me,” he meant it.  That is our only hope of sharing someday in the glory of God – that we surrender ALL for ALL time to Christ as the LORD of our lives, our thoughts, our speech, our actions – not just believing He died for us.

Those are my comments on Chapter One of Colossians.  We have yet to get to the passage that many distort and misunderstand thinking Paul is telling believers to abandon God’s holy, eternal Sabbath – a rank absurdity. To be continued…..

COLOSSIANS 2 AND THE SABBATH!

The average “Christian” hasn’t even begun to get a grip on how greatly Satan has deceived the world, yes, even the professing “Christian” world – and their ministry. Most seem to think the apostle Paul mocks or puts down sabbath observance in Colossians, chapter 2, verse 16. Paul is not telling believers to abandon anything in that verse, or that we are freed up from any practice. He is simply saying let no man judge you in such matters. We prevent others from judging us when we do the right thing. What if Paul said, Let no man judge you in respect to stealing, or lying, or fornication?” He would not be saying the 8th, 9th and 7th commandments had been abolished and were no longer in force. He would be saying the opposite. He would be urging us to keep those commandments! And when he writes: “Let no man therefore judge you…in respect of an holyday…or of the sabbath days,” he is not saying the 4th commandment has been abolished and is no longer in force. He is doing the opposite! He is urging us to keep that commandment. Never forget that Peter warned that Paul wrote some things hard to understand if one is unlearned in the scriptures, failing to consider the revelation of all of Holy Writ, and if a person is spiritually unstable, sinning one moment, repenting the next.

Notice, in the Colossian text, how Paul says the cross succeeded in “blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that were AGAINST US, which was CONTRARY to us” (See verse 14 of Colossians 2). This language could never be used of God’s sabbath! For God’s Word plainly declares “the sabbath…is HOLY unto you” (Exodus 31:14). “God BLESSED the seventh day” (Genesis 2:3). Keeping the sabbath PLEASED God (See Isaiah 56:4). God COMMANDS us to call the sabbath “A DELIGHT!” (See Isaiah 58:13). Anyone who says the sabbath was, or is, contrary to us or called a “yoke of bondage” in scripture is either grossly deceived or horribly ignorant of the scriptures. The ordinances that were against us were the ADDED laws, those laws called “the works of the law” – not God’s holy Ten Commandments.

Notice the context of Colossians 2. The “mystery” to which Paul refers in verse 2 is the hidden mystery of how the Messiah was God’s sacrificial Lamb. The apostles themselves did not understand this until after Christ’s resurrection. Paul then writes “ye are complete in Him” (verse 10). We need offer no further sacrifice. He was cut off for us (verse 11). His sacrifice was sufficient (verses 12 and 13). All ordinances governing sacrifices and offerings have been blotted out, repealed (verse 14). “Let no man therefore judge you in (respect to) meat (offerings), or in drink (offerings), or in respect of an holy day, or the new moon, or of the sabbath days (when such offerings would ordinarily be made)” (verse 16). Don’t you see it? Paul is not setting aside sabbath observance with the words he writes in verse 16. He is merely saying no offerings or sacrifices need to be made on such days!!  God help you to understand is my prayer.

WHEN AND WHERE DID GOD PLACE HIS BLESSING ON SUNDAY?

I have just been meditating on a text in Numbers Chapter 23.  In that passage the prophet Balaam makes a statement that is profound in its implications.  The king of Moab had pleaded with Balaam to curse Israel so that he could defeat them in battle.  Balaam realizes that Israel has been blessed by God and is, therefore, not subject to such a curse.  He then says to the king of Moab, “Behold, I have received commandment to bless, and He (God) hath blessed (blessed Israel), AND I CANNOT REVERSE IT.” (verse 20).  Now look at Genesis 2, verses 1 thru 3, “Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.  And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.  AND GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, AND SANCTIFIED IT, because that He had rested from all His work, which God created and made.”

Now, consider Balaam’s statement to the king of Moab: “He hath blessed, AND I CANNOT REVERSE IT!”  No one has or ever will have the authority or power to interfere with or change, or alter, God’s pronounced blessing on the seventh day.  The seventh day is His sabbath.  It was blessed at the time of creation of mankind.  None can reverse it.  NO ONE!  Nowhere in all the Bible do you find that God blessed Sunday, making it a day of rest and worship. NOWHERE!   Nowhere in all the Bible do you find that God desanctified His sacred sabbath, removing His blessing from it.  NOWHERE!  Sunday worship is an invention of men regardless of how many professing “Christians” honor it and spurn God’s sabbath.  If a million popes place their blessing on it, it doesn’t change a thing.  If every professing Christian in the world begins honoring Sunday as the Lord’s Day, it will not change a thing!

Jesus Christ was crucified in a warm weather month.  It was imperative that they anoint the body as quickly as possible with the funerary ointments as corruption would be setting in quickly, yet since an annual sabbath was fast approaching and would begin within an hour or so, “the women which came with Him from Galilee, followed after (Joseph of Arimathea, the man who was given Christ’s body by Pilate), and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid (unanointed), and they returned (to their homes), and prepared spices and ointments, AND RESTED THE SABBATH DAY ACCORDING TO THE COMMANDMENT” (See Luke 23:50-56).  Note well, these followers of the Lord RESTED ON THE SABBATH DAY ACCORDING TO THE COMMANDMENT even though it was imperative that the body of Jesus be anointed as quickly as possible.  Nothing Jesus had said during His three year ministry gave them any indication that God’s holy sabbath was to be desanctified, made a common day, a day to be replaced by the pagan “day of the sun,” a day held sacred to the sun god for centuries, the day we moderns call Sunday!  They wouldn’t violate God’s sabbath day for ANY reason, not even to anoint the crucified body of their Lord!  Think about that for a moment.  We had better stop listening to men and let the Word of God speak to us and order our conduct.  “All these people can’t be wrong” is a phoney argument.  Can all these Roman Catholics be wrong?  Can all these Mormons be wrong?  Can all these Muslims be wrong?  “Let God be true, but every man a liar.” (See Romans 3:4).

NO CONDEMNATION!

Many believers, even many pastors, know snippets of scripture, sentences or phrases that they will often quote to support their doctrinal beliefs. In doing so, they often take out of context what is really being said. For instance, one quotation I have heard quite often is something the apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8, verse 1: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…” They will then expound on these words of the apostle Paul and declare that “when God looks on a Christian all He sees is the righteousness of Jesus Christ. We are no longer condemned. Jesus paid the price of sin and paid it in full. It is finished.” But here’s the full verse: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, WHO WALK NOT AFTER THE FLESH, BUT AFTER THE SPIRIT.” Out of forty-five different Bible translations examined, twenty-one contain the phrase, “who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” and among those translations containing the phrase the following highly respected versions do so: Young’s Literal Translation, Smith’s Literal Translation, the Aramaic and Lamsa Translations, Tyndale’s Bible of 1526, Coverdale’s Bible of 1535, Bishop’s Bible of 1568 and the Geneva Bible of 1587. This same apostle warned that not only can believers fall into condemnation, but they can fall into the worst kind of condemnation, writing to Timothy, “For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God, not a novice (a new convert), lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil” (See I Timothy 3:5-6).

God sees us as we are. If we sin, He sees that sin and commands that we confess and forsake the same. It seems that there are few pastors who exhort their congregations to pay close attention to the second and third chapters of the Book of Revelation. That is the passage wherein Jesus is described as standing in the midst of seven early congregations of believers of the First Century. He tells every one of them He knows their works. He sees their sins. Over and over again He commands them to repent, urging “he who has ears to hear, let him hear,” and warning them “I will give unto every one of you according to your works.” To the church at Thyatira, Christ warns, “I will kill her children with death” – the wages of sin! Jesus is not the author of confusion. He speaks plainly, forthrightly. He tells it like it is.

Many centuries before inspiring the apostle John to write the words quoted above, Jesus inspired His prophet Jeremiah to write: “I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins (the innermost being and thoughts), even to give every man (no exceptions) according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings” (See Jeremiah 17:10).

To the members of the ancient church at Sardis, Jesus promised “He that overcomes (his, or her, fleshly passions, tendencies to sin, Satan’s many deceptions), the same shall be clothed in white raiment, and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before His angels” (Revelation 3:5). Christ is not a deceiver. He does not falsely lead a believer to think his name can be blotted out of the book of life. Thousands of years previously, Jesus had said to Moses, “Whosoever has sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book” (See Exodus 32:33). He changes not. God have mercy on any who forget that. Centuries later the Psalmist wrote of those who continued to sin, “Let them not come into thy righteousness. Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous” (See Psalm 69:27-28).

Many professing Christians are members of congregations that embrace gross error and have those errors reinforced in their minds week in and week out as they sit under the teaching and instruction of pastors who have little understanding of the Word of God. What kind of pastors do you think many of the congregations mentioned in Revelation 2 and 3 had leading and guiding them? Those who teach falsehood can possess very pleasing personalities and can be very able speakers. That is why believers are commanded to “test the spirits” whether a pastor is truly anointed by the Lord or acting on their own in performing the office of a spiritual overseer of a given congregation. And, of course, those ignorant of the Word of God themselves are easily duped into following the spiritually blind.

Revelation Chapters 2 and 3 are the best test I know whereby one can “test the spirits.” Are the statements made therein something your pastor would say? If not, you should look for another pastor. Jesus Himself speaks words of condemnation to these believers, as many of them were men and women who walked in the flesh and not after the Spirit. He addresses Himself to those who already have a personal relationship with Him, warning many of them that they were in imminent danger of having their names blotted out of the book of life. For decades that danger was very real in my own life, but thanks be to God He was longsuffering and finally turned me around, making a lifelong enemy His faithful servant. I now live to serve and honor Him and to say what He says and to say it plainly, clearly and forthrightly.

GOD’S COVENANT WITH ABRAHAM – AND YOU?

Abraham lived well over two hundred years before Moses and the making of the Old Covenant. Therefore, the covenant God made with Abraham (the Abrahamic Covenant) is NOT a part of the Old Covenant. Though the Old Covenant was set aside and replaced by the New Covenant, no scripture even indicates that the Abrahamic Covenant was ever set aside, replaced or abrogated in any fashion. In fact, the scriptures state quite clearly that the covenant God made with Abraham and all of his descendants, especially his spiritual descendants – all true Christians – is continuous, on-going, and one hundred percent valid and still in effect to this very day and will be in effect until Jesus Christ returns to this earth and, quite possibly, even long after that event occurs! Some might think, “So what?” or “Big Deal!” Well, let me tell you, reader, it IS a big deal. It is an event of the greatest importance to true believers. And pastors who do not carefully explain this covenant to their respective congregations do them a great disservice. It would be similar to your holding a winning lottery ticket and never learning that your ticket was the winning ticket of the power ball lottery! Believe me, I am not exaggerating using that comparison.

Most Christian pastors have great gaps in their understanding of the scriptures. Ask the average church pastor, “What was the Abrahamic Covenant? What did God promise Abraham and his descendants in that covenant? Is that covenant still in effect today or was it set aside by the cross? Are Christians regarded as Abraham’s descendants by God?” I am afraid most pastors if asked such questions would hem and haw, fumble and probably say, “Let me get back to you on that.” And that is a crying shame. Pastors should put away their golf clubs and fishing poles, turn off their televisions and cancel their trips to the Holy Land and start reading their Bibles slowly and carefully – every word, every begat, and every “thus saith the Lord.” Their responsibility toward their respective congregations goes far beyond the responsibility a heart surgeon has toward a patient with severe heart problems. The heart surgeon can only cost you your physical life. The Christian pastor can cost you a whole lot more. God have mercy on the ignorant pastor and on the ignorant Christian.

What if the executor of your deceased father’s estate was so inept at his job of executor that he failed to inform you that your father’s estate was worth many millions of dollars. Instead he gave you the impression that the total value of your father’s estate was actually less than $10,000.00. Would you be upset? Would you seek to have another more competent executor appointed? I believe you would be more than a little upset and would immediately seek out another executor. Well, any pastor ignorant of the Abrahamic Covenant is just such an executor. His incompetence costs you more than you can ever imagine.

God made a covenant with Abraham and ALL his descendants, yes, even his spiritual descendants – all true Christians. This covenant is in full force yet today and will be in force many centuries into the future – so says your Bible. Those who remain ignorant of this fact, and of the conditions of this covenant, lose out big time in their daily lives. Pastors and Bible teachers who do not understand this covenant, and who do not share the benefits of this covenant with those who look to them for spiritual enlightenment and instruction ought to be selling insurance, or teaching American history to high school students, or managing a Walmart store – ANYTHING but setting themselves up as spokesmen of the Most High God.

Satan is many things. He is a slanderer, defaming God’s people again and again. He is a deceiver, deceiving the unsuspecting believer into accepting gross error as divine truth. And he is something else: scripture says he is a thief and a robber, stealing the truth from men’s hearts and minds. He has stolen knowledge of the Abrahamic Covenant from the minds of millions of believers. Ask the average believer his opinion of the covenant God made with Abraham and notice the blank look on his face. He has no idea what you are talking about. Well, I’m not the average believer, folks. Stay tuned as this executor will shortly read to you the will and inform you of your inheritance, an inheritance available to you in the here and now. But you must claim it yourself. I have been claiming mine for years.

The covenant God made with Abraham many centuries ago has been changed by God Himself in only one aspect, whereas when first inaugurated it required all male partakers of that covenant to be physically circumcised. (See Genesis 17:10-14), that covenant now requires all the spiritual children of Abraham – male and female – to be spiritually circumcised! Many do not realize that the word “everlasting” in the Hebrew scriptures is often qualified by the context in which it is found and often merely means “continuous,” or as long as one lives. The one change in the Abrahamic Covenant is that the circumcision is no longer in the flesh, but in the heart, and no longer concerns only the males bur ALL believers, male and female. The apostle Paul in Romans 2:29 explains that circumcision “is of the heart by the Spirit…” Other than that there has been no change in the covenant God made with Abraham and his descendants. The apostle Paul clearly stated that all truly converted believers are regarded by God as children, or descendants, of Abraham? (See Romans 4:1, 16-17 and Galatians 3:14, 29). There is a good reason why Paul repeatedly pointed this out to those who came to have faith in Jesus Christ. He did not want them to miss out on the many benefits of being children of Abraham. Just as there are many benefits to being the son or daughter of the royal families of this earth, there are many more benefits to being the children of Abraham!

But God added one all-important condition, or stipulation, to His covenant with Abraham: “Walk before me and be blameless” (See Genesis 17:2). Satan, in his cleverness, knowing the fantastic benefits attached to being a child of Abraham, also is well aware of this one condition to that covenant. So, what does he do? He uses deceived ministers to convince Christians it is impossible to walk before God and be blameless! “You gotta sin, folks. It’s the human condition. We all sin every day in thought, word and deed,” so they say. God says, “Be holy as I am holy. Be perfect as I am perfect,” and these preachers say, “It’s impossible. Don’t even try..” (See I Peter 1:15-17 and Matthew 5:48). Jesus says, “Go, and sin no more,” and these blinded “ministers” say, “Forget it. There’s no use even trying.” Many preachers are going to have a lot to answer for when they come face-to-face with Jesus Christ.

God’s promise to Abraham was “I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you AND YOUR DESCENDANTS AFTER YOU FOR THE GENERATIONS TO COME TO BE YOUR GOD, AND THE GOD OF YOUR DESCENDANTS AFTER YOU….AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD!” (Genesis 17:7-8). Do you realize all that entails? Being our God means that the Almighty will do for us anything and everything we cannot do for ourselves. He will forgive us all our sins. He will cleanse and purify us. He will heal us when we are sick. He will protect us when we need protection. He will guide us in our day-by-day lives. He will avenge us when we come under attack by our enemies. He will even resurrect us when we die!

“O descendants of Abraham, His servant…He is the Lord our God, His judgments are in all the earth (in Ohio, in New Jersey, in Kentucky). He remembers His covenant forever, the word He commanded FOR A THOUSAND GENERATIONS (and not even a hundred have passed since God made that covenant with Abraham), THE COVENANT HE MADE WITH ABRAHAM, the oath He swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant” (See Psalm 105:6-10 and Hebrews 6:13-20). Remember that the apostle Paul points out that true Christians are and comprise spiritual Israel in God’s eyes. (See Ephesians 2:11-21).

God have mercy on all those well-intentioned men and women who have set themselves up as Jesus Christ’s representatives and who know nothing whatsoever of what God is doing down here below on this earth. They counter-work our Lord and His true spokesmen around the clock, insisting one cannot break with sin, declaring that God does not see the believer’s sin, teaching that one is “locked-in” to their salvation, that believers go immediately to heaven when they die, that God’s eternal sabbath has been set aside and replaced by Sunday, that God doesn’t heal anymore, and a host of other diabolical errors. They will answer to Jesus Christ someday for their arrogance and false teaching. And their followers love to have it so as they scorn the truth and belittle God’s true servants. Yeah, folks, I’ll stand by many a grave before any one stands beside my own. I serve Abraham’s God and through Jesus Christ I am a direct descendant of Abraham, enjoying fully all the benefits that attach thereto.

In Psalm 105 God’s covenant with Abraham AND HIS DESCENDANTS was commanded by God to continue for a thousand generations? (Psalm 105:6-9). In Matthew 1:17 we are told that from the time of Abraham until the time of Jesus’ birth only 42 generations had passed. Between the time of Jesus Christ earthly sojourn and today only a similar amount have passed. That’s less than 100 generations, yet God, who cannot lie when making a promise, said His covenant with Abraham and His descendants would continue to a thousand generations. Read all 45 verses of the 105th Psalm. It is a declaration of what God has done and will continue to do for those who are participants in the Abrahamic Covenant IF they walk in a blameless walk before Him. That is the one condition and that is what is meant by the phrase “circumcision of the heart.” Our heart, or mind, is severed from the sinful desires and interests of this world and given over to God’s control and guidance. If and when we fall, give in to some sin, all we need do is confess and turn away from that sin and we instantly regain our blameless walk before the Most High.

The 105th Psalm enumerates the many fantastic things God did for the descendants of Abraham generation after generation, and then in the final verse of that Psalm, verse 45, He says why He did all that He performed, “that they might observe his statutes, and keep His laws.” That is what is uppermost in God’s mind in His dealings with the spiritual descendants of Abraham. It is His declared intention to bring us into a continuous lifestyle of observing His statutes and keeping His laws. That is why right off the bat, at the very start of His earthly ministry, Jesus stated clearly and plainly “think NOT that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy but to fulfil (Greek pleroo, meaning “to execute, or fully preach”) for truly I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled, whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven, but whosoever shall DO (that is, KEEP) and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” He then quotes two of the Ten Commandments word-for-word in order that there be no mistaking which commandments He is speaking of. He quotes the sixth commandment (“Thou shalt not kill”) and He quotes the seventh commandment (“Thou shalt not commit adultery”).

Please note that Jesus said not one jot or tittle, not the smallest change will be made in any of the Ten Commandments! Therefore, it is ludicrous to think that the fourth commandment, “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy,” has been changed to “Remember Sunday to keep it holy!” Sunday has never been made holy. No one can find a single verse of scripture that says Sunday is holy or sacred time. Only God can make something holy. And God has never made Sunday holy. Only God can desanctify something He Himself has sanctified, and no scripture even suggests God desanctified His holy ETERNAL Sabbath! Men are playing with fire when they tread on God’s holy eternal Sabbath day and try to convince others God’s Sabbath was moved to the day that for centuries was set aside to honor the Sun god of antiquity. It doesn’t matter if every professing Christian on earth abandons the Sabbath and calls Sunday a holy day, they are in gross error and remove themselves thereby from enjoying the benefits of the covenant God made with Abraham. No wonder Sunday keepers don’t even know about the Abrahamic Covenant. It really does NOT apply to them as God sees them as rebels, not blameless followers of His statutes and laws. He, therefore does not bring his covenant to their remembrance or enlighten them to its perpetual nature.

Folks, I cannot force-feed God’s truth into your minds. You either have ears to hear or you do not. You either accept the plain, clear words of Jesus Christ or you do not. Jesus says plainly that not one jot or tittle will pass from His eternal Ten Commandment law, so deceived men say one whole commandment was dropped – the only commandment of the ten that begins with the word REMEMBER! And, yes, I will admit I am staggered by Satan’s deceiving power. He is a deceiver without peer. He is at the top of his game with the ability to take out a writer of scripture (Solomon) as well as an apostle (Judas), and believe me he can take out ten thousand times ten thousand preachers and pastors. And he may well have taken out your own………

“SOME BELIEVED – AND SOME DID NOT!”

If there was ever a convincing speaker, who really knew and comprehended the Word of God, it was the apostle Paul, yet we read in the closing chapter of the Book of Acts how Paul “expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening, and some believed the things that were spoken, and some believed not” (See Acts 28:23-24).

So my feelings are not hurt when I find that there are those who do not believe the truths upon which I expound. I realize quite well that there are many who have no interest whatsoever in spiritual matters. This life, and this life alone, kindles or stimulates their interest. I also take into account the fact that one of the hardest things one will ever be called upon to do is to question their own long held beliefs. If my sister pastors a church, which grows from a membership of 100 people to a membership of 1200 persons in less than three years, you will be hard put to convince me God doesn’t authorize and use female pastors and church leaders. And that is the same argument used by the Mormons. They say, “Look at our growth. God is evidently behind The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.” I have had Mormon “elders” use this same argument with me. They all are oblivious to the fact that the Muslim recruiter will use the same argument in attempting to convince someone to embrace the teachings of Islam and the Quran.

After a miracle ministry of three years, Jesus Christ Himself had only one hundred and twenty dedicated followers! (See Acts 1:15). Jesus lost many of His followers in the very opening days of His ministry when He told them, “‘No man can come unto me except it were given him of my Father.’ From that time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him.” (See John 6:65-66). They were not plucked, or forced, out of Jesus’ hand. They chose to leave, and they left. I could become a Muslim tomorrow if I so chose. So could YOU! No one is locked in to following or obeying Jesus Christ. And, believe me, the time is going to come when many, yes multitudes, will do just that. They will abandon Christianity for Islam. Countless numbers are doing so right now. Not all who do so become militant terrorists, you know.

No one reading my words will live long enough to see the horrors that Islam is going to visit upon this world, yes, even on America. The tragedies of 9/11 will be repeated again and again and again. Do not look for Jesus to “rapture” you away. That is a devil’s delusion. You might be fortunate enough to die a natural death before the time of Islam’s worldwide triumphs arrives. But don’t expect to be whisked away by a “rapture.” It’s not going to happen.

THE HOLY CITY

“AND (THE HOLY CITY) HAD A WALL GREAT AND HIGH, AND HAD TWELVE GATES, AND AT THE GATES TWELVE ANGELS, AND NAMES WRITTEN THEREON, WHICH ARE THE NAMES OF THE TWELVE TRIBES OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.” (REVELATION 21:12). HAVEN’T YOU NOTICED? THERE IS NO GATE FOR THE GENTILES, BECAUSE A CONVERTED GENTILE BECOMES A SPIRITUAL ISRAELITE, THE ONLY TRUE ISRAELITE! (READ EPHESIANS 2 SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY). THE “NEW NAME” JESUS GIVES THE TRUE CONVERT WILL SIGNIFY THEIR TRIBE IN SPIRITUAL ISRAEL. (SEE REVELATION 2:17).

WHERE AND WHEN DOES GOD BEGIN HIS JUDGMENT?

“Judgment must begin at the house of God” (See I Peter 4:17).  When bringing harsh judgment upon the house of Judah for their sun worship and other gross sins, God commanded the destroying angels to “begin at my sanctuary.  Then they began at the ancient men” (See Ezekiel 9:6).  But the command was to “slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women” (same verse).

Many have been wondering if the devastation brought upon North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida recently has merely been a quirk of nature or if nature’s God has been using the weather to judge America.  It would not be the first time God has so directed the weather.  Of course, the question must be asked, does America warrant such devastating judgment?  Isn’t our national motto, “In God We Trust”?  Doesn’t that signify we are collectively a godly people?

Thirty-nine times in the Bible God commands His people of all times and eras, “Be ye holy!”  In no scripture are we commanded to be religious.  Hindus are religious!  Muslims are religious!  Sun worshipers are religious!  Christians are exhorted to “abstain from fleshly lusts” and we are to “keep His commandments” (See I Peter 2:11 and I John 5:2).

Christians are divided into dozens and dozens of factions, each denomination or independent congregation differing widely from one another in what they believe and teach.  God is not the author of confusion.  Satan is!  And Satan entered the Christian fold early on while some, if not most, of the apostles were still on the scene.  True Christians, even the apostles, were being cast out of the church, yet a church remained – a corrupted church!  The apostle John wrote “I wrote unto the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, receives us not.”  Still these people were the people of God, but their spiritual leaders were not being led of God and, thus, began introducing errors into the church – errors that persist to this day.

Christians in America have had nearly 250 years to get it right, to come back to the faith once delivered to the saints.  We have not done so.  For the most part, we have gone backward, not forward.  Some congregations have openly homosexual  pastors, even transsexual pastors.  Many congregations support abortion and the LGBTQ movement.  Few congregations are exhorted to live holy lives and to shun and avoid all sin.  Keeping the Ten Commandments is seldom, if ever, mentioned.

Once God begins to move in judgment He commands His servants, “Pray NOT for this people,” for God never moves in judgment against His people unless He has already exhausted all other entreaties to turn them around.  (See Jeremiah 7:16 and Jeremiah 11:14).

Tighten your seatbelts, brethren.  We are in for a very rough ride.  Individually the fully surrendered believer can take Psalm 91 as his, or her, comfort, but note well that the promises of that Psalm are given to those who “dwell in the secret place of the Most High” and “abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”  (See verse 1, Psalm 91).  God help us all to understand.
